The Skidder showing is located 2 kilometres north of Witch Lake, approximately 61 kilometres east-northeast of the community of Leo Creek.

The area is underlain by intermediate to mafic, augite porphyry volcanic rocks of the Witch Lake succession and clastic sedimentary rocks and volcanic tuffs of the Inzana Lake succession (Jurassic Takla Group). These have been intruded and altered by monzonite and diorite intrusions.

Locally, copper mineralization occurs in seams of pyrite cutting a fine-grained diorite or intermediate tuff.

In 1995, Westmin Resources Limited completed an induced polarization survey over the occurrence. The results showed a general chargeability anomaly surrounding the occurrence.

In 2008, Equity Exploration and Misty Creek Ventures completed a program of rock sampling and minor geological mapping. Sampling returned up to 0.27 per cent copper, 6.5 grams per tonne silver and 0.07 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 30490).

In 2010, Equity Exploration Consultants Ltd. completed an exploration program on the area containing the occurrence. Anomalous gold and copper values were observed in the sampling program.

In 2011, Equity Exploration Consultants Ltd. conducted an exploration program on the property containing the occurrence. Multiple gold, copper, lead, and zinc anomalies were reported on.
